Venusian Kitchen is about kissing the apple, loving the cook, reaching for a wooden spoon and add a little dance to it, celebrating the basics in life with our loved ones.

Venusian Kitchen is any place where ideas are born, triggered by the sound of the sizzle when we lift the lid, the presence of our friends and family, the deliciousness of the food on our plate, the first taste of the wine we just opened, the breeze that comes through the open window.

Venusian Kitchen is were we stay in tune with the beauty and daily gift of our food. That what brings us together and keeps us together. Food that is just food. Inspirational and simple. Inviting us to cut and peel, to stir and feel. Cooking is like falling in love: timing is everything. And if you put your heart in it, one good thing will lead to another..

This book expresses our gratitude and love for food through photography, painting and poetry. We love to give inspiration to add some Venusian flavour to your daily life. Every day offers the opportunity to create. To share. To connect. As long as there is a purpose, there is a plan: it’s all in your pan.

Venusian Kitchen is an ode to our food and our daily life. It's a celebration of friendship, family and meetings with strangers. Photographer Elsbeth Tijssen made intimate portraits of vegetables and people. She pictured compelling landscapes of orchards and fields. And created enchanting still lifes of simple ingredients for a fulfilling meal.
